Hi all,

The Debian CTTE has released their decision on the question of allowing
vendor-specific patch series in the Debian archive:

Summary:

Vendor-specific patch series will be phased out of the Debian archive
during the buster cycle and will be completely removed after that.

Yeah…

And to make this crystal clear, I have no plan whatsoever to remove
this feature from dpkg itself, so derivatives will still be able to
use it for themselves and their own derivatives going forward. I'll
probably even improve upon it, so that even more code can be turned
into declarative files instead of ad-hoc gook all over the place.

Thanks,
Guillem
